Dr. James Menlove
Dr. James Menlove is a medical doctor who completed his medical degree at the University of Toronto. Upon graduation, he was awarded entry into the Alpha Omega Society. He was also awarded the University of Toronto’s Dr. George K. Balkos Memorial Award for Excellence in Family Medicine, given to the top graduating medical student entering family medicine.
After medical school, Dr. Menlove completed a two-year Family Medicine residency through the University of Toronto. He served as Chief Resident of his Residency Program. He subsequently completed an additional two years of training in Anesthesia and Emergency Medicine at The University of Western Ontario.
Currently, Dr. Menlove practices both anesthesia medicine and emergency medicine. He has also served as Chief of emergency medicine at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital.
Dr. Menlove is a personable, caring, and compassionate person who strives to provide his patients with excellent, safe, and comfortable care. On the day of your procedure, Dr. Menlove will provide you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have regarding the sedation you will receive.
Dr. Jon Lok
Dr. Jonathan J. Lok is a dental anaesthesiologist who provides sedation and general anaesthesia to dental offices in the GTA and beyond. His patients include young children, anxious or phobic patients, those who have had negative dental experiences in the past, people with severe gag reflexes, others who have difficulty with ‘freezing’, the mentally or physically challenged, or those patients who require extensive or uncomfortable treatment.
Dr. Lok graduated from dental school at the University of Toronto in 2001 and in 2004 completed his dental anaesthesia training at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He is recognized by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario as a Certified Specialist in Dental Anaesthesia. He is a part-time clinical instructor in the graduate dental anaesthesia program at University of Toronto and was the secretary of the Canadian Academy of Dental Anaesthesia from 2007 to 2008. He is one of the few dentists in Canada who has extensive training in sedation and general anaesthesia.
Dr. Lok is patient, compassionate, and caring, and strives to create a safe and comfortable environment for you or your child.
Dr. Maya Kim
Dr. Kim’s patients include young children, anxious or phobic patients, those who have had negative dental experiences in the past, people with severe gag reflexes, those who have difficulty with ‘freezing’, the mentally or physically challenged, and patients who require extensive or uncomfortable treatment.
Dr. Kim is personable, caring, and compassionate. Her goal is to provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients on the day of their sedation.
On the day of your procedure, Dr. Kim will provide you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have regarding the sedation you will receive.
Dr. Michael Chow
Dr. Michael Chow holds a Master’s in Dental Anaesthesiology and is one of the few dentists in our province who holds a board-certified specialty status in this area of expertise. Dr. Chow graduated from the University of Toronto in the year 2000. Subsequently he became the owner of a private practice in Orillia.
In 2008, Dr. Chow enrolled in three years of training in the Master of Dental Anaesthesia program. This program involves major rotations at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto East General Hospital, Toronto General Hospital, as well as Sunny Brook Hospital. He was awarded the Tom Lykos Memorial Scholarship by the faculty of dentistry.
In addition to providing dental and anaesthetic care for dentistry for Dundas, Dr. Chow has always been involved with clinical education at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto. He used to be a restorative instructor for the fourth-year dental class and currently teaches dental anaesthesia to both the undergraduate class and residents in the graduate program.
Jen has more than 18 years of knowledge in all facets of dentistry. Over the years, Jen has taken the role of treatment coordinator. She believes that educating people so they have a better understanding of their oral health creates healthier smiles.
Outside of the clinic, you may see Jen in either an arena or soccer field!
Judy Johnston has been a Registered Nurse in the ER for 30 years. She works as a charge nurse at St Thomas Elgin General Hospital and has also worked as a staff Nurse at university hospital ER for 13 years. She maintains her emergency nursing certification, ENC(C), and holds current BLS/ ACLS certification. She is excited to be working with Dr Soni and his fabulous anesthesia team.
